Let’s All Act for Cleaner Air
Dirty air puts us all at risk of serious health problems. The government has tried its hardest to promulgate laws that would help solve this problem. The thing is, if people don’t take part in the government’s endeavor for cleaner air, no law or project would even come close to reducing the effects of air pollution.
There are a lot of things we can do to help alleviate air pollution. If we could only commit ourselves to doing simple acts everyday for our environment, then we could be breathing cleaner air sooner than we thought.
Vehicles are one the most common causes of air pollution. Responsible ownership is very important when getting a car. You should have your car checked regularly. Make sure that your vehicle is not emitting dirty air. Also, avoid using your car when you’re not going on a long drive. You have feet, use them to your advantage. Walking and bicycling don’t only keep you fit, they also help you save on gas money. You can also try carpooling with your neighbors if you go to work on the same area. It wouldn’t hurt to ride with your neighbors right? All of you can save gas money and participate in easing up our dirty air problem.
Stop burning your trash. What is so hard with segregating your wastes and waiting for the garbage truck to collect them? The smoke coming from the burning pile does not only contribute to air pollution but it is also very harmful to you, especially to little kids.
Stop smoking. While most people would tell you to stop smoking because it’s bad for your health, studies have shown that 3 cigarette sticks emit more air pollutants than one vehicle does [read text here]. You’re not only harming yourself every time you light a cigarette, your also making our air problem worse.
We can all do something to improve the quality of air we breathe. We only need to be more conscious of our actions and its effects on the environment. Environmental awareness is the key to action. Anything big starts with something small. Let’s all work and act for a cleaner air.
